10 Reasons I'm Thankful For My Roomie

"Very few times in our lives, we stumble upon certain people who will be important to us forever. If you’re lucky enough to find them in a roommate, you probably didn’t know you guys would end up being so close when you first met them"

Living with someone in a 15 x 12 foot tiny room while constantly struggling through life can be difficulty but all worth it at times. Your college roommate sees you during your best and hardest times and sticks by you through thick in thin. Sometimes, we forget to thank our roommate for dealing with with us, turning up with us, and loving us unconditionally no matter how wild we are.

There are so many reasons to be thankful for my roommate, but here is just a few to name:

1. Never Judging

Super thankful that you never judge my decisions and crazy things that I do (even though you prob do in your head). Sometimes I just need a crying music session and you look at me like I'm crazy. Also, you take everything I tell you with grace and support me no matter if I'm wrong or right.

2. Snack Time

A roomie who is always down for snacks is one to keep. She gets the best snacks, shares the best snacks, and always loves midnight snack time! Oh, also she steals me cookies from the cafeteria...she's a keeper for that.

3. Trap Rap Dance Parties

Homegirl is ALWAYS down to make a fool of herself and bust out in a dance party for two in our room when it's been a rough day. We get each other, and we do realize that neither of us can actually dance but we have a blast doing it anyways!

4. Laughing about everything

Our inside jokes give me life. "Come heeeere." "Don't do that heeeeny." People probably think we are mentally crazy for the stuff we say and because we just break out laughing all the time... so thanks for looking crazy with me

5. Twinning With Me

If I had a dollar for how many times people have asked me if we were sisters...I would be rich. We dress the same. Act the same. Wear the same clothes, shoes, jackets, and makeup. So thankful to have a roommate that's my literal twin so it can remind me how cute I am.

6. Naps

It really is a blessing in disguise when you be super quite when you have 8am's and I don't and then you come back and nap so I can sleep longer. We all know that I need my beauty sleep....

7. Loving My Friends

I introduced you to my "family" of friends, and you fit right in. Thank you for dealing with them even though they are crazy, and thank you for loving them as much as I do!

8. Protecting me

Even though people consider me the "sassy and bold" one of the two of us..there's a lot more to you than what just meets the surface! You're a feisty little thing and people underestimate you because of how sweet yo are! So thanks for protecting me and standing up for me when I no longer can do it for myself. Oh, also thanks for being the mother hen and stealing me the last roll.

9. Taking Adventures

Honestly, I never really considered myself an adventurist and never took spontaneous hour trips to just walk up a mountain. You literally are down for anything, and I'm so thankful for that.

10. Loving Me Unconditionally

I'm sassy, wild, crazy, moody, emotional, bossy, full of energy, I whine, talk a lot, and I'm a walking mess but you still want to be my best friend/roommate and love me unconditionally no matter what. You tell me the truth whether I want to hear it or not and you are my go to for everything. I can't imagine my life or college without you...so thanks for loving me through everything!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
