My Freshmen Year

It's the memories that make it all worth it.

My Freshmen Year

My freshmen year of college was all sorts of things. It was nerve wracking, memorable, and eventful. If somebody were to ask me if I would change one thing I don't think I would. I made several new friends along the way and even lost a few but that's ok, everything happens for a reason. The memories and events are what meant the most to me. Those are what will live on forever.

My freshman year was nerve wracking because I was taking five classes both semesters on top of three jobs. It was really hard to manage the time but I somehow was able to do it. Studying just built up more stress beause I wanted to pass my classes. I wanted to succeed in school. I wanted to make something of myself. Time management is the biggest thing you will need to have as a college student. I highly suggest not to procrastinate.

My freshmen year was memorable because of all the friends I have made. I remember first meeting my Best friend Katie almost a year ago because of her lastname. It is an ordinary lastname but they way she reacts to it is amazing. I am so happy to have a friend like her. She made Freshman orientation enjoyable I remember my first game of pool in the schools gameroom with who is now my ex boyfriend Dylan. He showed me that I don't have to be shy and that it is okay to be myself I remember going hiking with my friend Kelina it was a blast, even when getting lost on our way back down. I remember when my best friend Alyssa and I had our ery first dinner date together. She took me to taco bell and I tried their tacos for the very firt time. They were amazing thank you. Most of all I remember my very first day meeting Ben. I didn't have to be shy with him, I could just be myself Somewhere along the way we fell in love and I couldn't be any happier. I also remember when Josh almost killed me when he made my beef in a bun. He didn't do it on purpose though. I thank him for changing his gloves before he makes my food now.

My freshmen year was eventful because of all the events on campus and the occasional trips to my best friends car. There was the camp rock sing along that I bailed out on last second. There were the several times Alyssa had me walk with her to her car because she needed something out of it. Also our walks in the pouring rain for salad dressing and markers at cvs. I wouldn't want to change these memories for anything else because this is what bases my friendships and my college life. I couldn't thank anybody that I met more than enough. I love you all.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
