Growing up I was told by my dad that the sports he played in his childhood and young adult life were hockey, lacrosse, and tennis. When my dad told me this I was shocked by the fact that he never played soccer or basketball. Those two sports were the sports I grew up playing. My dad never did play soccer or basketball, so I was quite surprised that he and my mom signed me up for soccer and allowed me to play unified basketball when I got into my sophomore year of high school. I was shocked that they didn't sign me up for little league hockey, or tennis, or even lacrosse. They automatically signed me up for soccer because I guess when my brother was playing in a game I would always run out to the field and want to play and shoot the ball in the goal, and so my parent's close friend told them to sign me right up. My siblings also had gotten signed up to play t-ball, softball, and/or soccer. My siblings tried these sports but did not successfully stay and play them for a good amount of time, because they quit after a few games and practices. I however, never got the opportunity to play softball, but I knew I would not enjoy it as much as I did with soccer. I was so happy being able to play something that always held an interest in my heart. What really stood out to me is the fact that my dad never played soccer or knew the whole concept of the sport, but he did something that really warmed my heart. He went to an adult soccer meeting to learn about the sport and be a coach for my recreational soccer team. He learned the game and how to make us players get better with our skills, so he taught us some practice things and games to help us better our foot skills and our understanding of the game. Who knew that he would also become an assistant coach and coach for my competitive soccer team. My dad went to meetings and did various soccer competitive coach training so there would be a competitive soccer team for me. My dad drove me to games, practices, soccer tournaments and brought soccer cleats, equipment, pads, soccer balls, a soccer bag for me, and my uniform for competitive indoor and outdoor soccer seasons. My dad also allowed me to go to two soccer camps one was for recreational and one was for me to become a better player for competitive that camp was for competitive soccer athletes, Overall my dad did so much for me when it came to soccer. I was truly thankful for him for all that he did. Also being able to play basketball in my sophomore year of high school was also fun and I was extremely happy to be able to play a high school sport, even if it was unified. Playing with disabled kids was a lot of fun and meant a lot to me seeing smiles on those kids faces. Even though my dad never came to my basketball games because of reasons he did recognize and know how good of a player I was and how well liked I was on the team :). When it came to playing sports in my family I was the athletic kid in the family. My family would run to and travel with me to all my soccer games and would cheer me on. Playing sports my whole life was pretty fun, expensive, and hectic, but so worth it. Overall, I was truly amazed how someone who grew up playing such different sport than I had could pick up a totally new sport and learn it within a couple of months. As well as knowing so much about my sports throughout my life, thanks Dad, for all that you did for me when I played these two sports.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
