This flu season has been hitting particularly hard everywhere, and it is not predicted to get any better. Either you are suffering, have a friend who is suffering, or just want to be prepared because you feel the sniffles coming on, I have for you a few must haves for your "Get Well Soon" stash for the flu season. Here is a brief list of things I know I can't live without.

1. Hot Tea in Your Fave Mug

You think, if you have a fever why do you want hot tea. Well, you're likely suffering a sore throat and the warmth from the hot tea will fee heavenly going across it. Plus, if it is honey and lemon, you have all the benefits of a cough drop. I'm sure all of us out there have a favorite mug just dying to be used anyway.

2. Cough Drops

Some sort of throat lozenge to suck on while you binge watch Netflix shows and stay in your pajamas all day. This will keep the throat coated between cups of hot tea.

3. Water, Gatorade, Some sort of fluids

You are likely not keeping much food down or just don't feel like eating period. Staying hydrated is key to getting well.

4. Comfy blanket(s)

Let's be honest, you're going from hot to cold in cycles on the clock every 5 minutes. But it is always nice to cuddle up with a comfy not too warm, but not too cool blanket. Maybe you have one thrown on your couch or a favorite you use for just this occasion.

5. Lots and Lots and LOTS of tissues.

Invest in the kind with lotion. Your nose will thank you!! These cushy pillows of softness on your nose will be heaven sent when you're reaching for them to sneeze or blow.

6. NETFLIX

This is a good time to binge all your favorite shows or even start that new one the girls at the office were telling you about. You will find hundreds of must watch lists online, you can even start there! Personally, I have been digging 'Breaking Bad' and 'House M.D.' but feel free to pick your poison

7. Snacks

If you can manage to hold down anything try to keep some snacks handy so you aren't getting up and moving around too much. I promise this will be a good idea the worse it gets.

If you were in fact unlucky enough to catch this unfortunate virus, I hope this list is helpful in case you forget how to sick. Sometimes being sick can make you forget the simplest comforts. These are the definite must haves.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
