Hey, you! Are you ready to take a relaxing, well-earned vacation but have no idea where to go?

Well, look no further than the middle of the United States. That's right, folks, I'm here to tell you that Kansas is THE relaxation destination. From sea to shining sea (of wheat), Kansas is the perfect place to spend those precious vacation days. Read on to discover all that this great state has to offer!

1. Breathtaking scenery

Kansas Wheatfield

Who needs pesky buildings, mountains, trees, and other topographical nonsense obscuring the landscape when you're able to see miles and miles of land from every direction?

Kansas has the reputation for being the flattest state. I'm here to tell you that Kansas is actually the seventh flattest state. You read right, there are a few mounds to hike in this Midwestern state.

I challenge you to climb any one of the five hills Kansas has and find a more beautiful and complete view of fields. Wheat fields, corn fields, soybean fields, you'll see these and more.

2. Peaceful surroundings

Because Kansas has been notoriously overlooked as a vacation location, it's incessantly quiet and restful. No annoying tourists with their loud music and hoodlum kids stopping in the middle of the road to take pictures. No crazy drivers thinking that vacation is the time that speed limits don't exist.

Instead, you have numerous incredibly small towns to choose from, all equipped with one main road, at least one good burger joint, and endless hours of inactivity (unless the cows get out again).

3. Adventurous climate

If you're more into excitement and adventure on your days off, then look no further than good old Kansas. If there's anything this state can promise, it's consistently inconsistent weather. You never really know what you're going to get, especially in these summer months.

In fact, most of Kansas' record-breaking weather achievements, including a highest temperature of 121 degrees Fahrenheit and almost 16 inches of continuous rainfall, have occurred during the summer months. Have you ever heard of humidity? How about heat index? Come experience these amazing phenomena and more!

4. Captivating attractions

Kansas also has a myriad of spectacular attractions that the whole family will love. You just can't miss the world's largest ball of twine, pictured above. And there is not one but two "Wizard of Oz" museums within Kansas' border, so if you don't see all you want to see at one, just click your ruby slippers over to the other!

If you're more into topographical sites rather than museums, Kansas definitely doesn't disappoint. Visit the geographical center of the continental United States or visit Mount Sunflower, the highest point in Kansas, all while enjoying the beautiful scenery Kansas has to offer.

There you have it! Kansas is THE place to vacation this summer, hands down. Come check it out today!

*Note: I really do love Kansas and everything it has to offer. In some ways, though, it's just too easy to make fun of.*

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
