It's officially fall. Didn't you know?

We've been swimming in a pool of fall nostalgia as we wait for the weather to actually make sense. It doesn't really feel like fall, but we've still been smothered by a truckload of pumpkin spice everything. Maybe you've been protesting the heat by wearing those long sleeve shirts that have been in the back of your closet since April or stocking up on unnecessary pumpkin-flavored junk food. All we really need now are some slow-it-down, take-me-back, curl-up-and-listen-without-a-textbook-on-your-lap tunes to get you feeling festive. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. The cooler is always packed, mostly with beer.
