I don't know about others, but I had a rough week last week with two big exams in two consecutive days. After the late nights and over-caffeinated mornings, I finally made to the weekend. I treated myself to a nice lunch and dinner (because why not?!), made a new playlist, with the calm October vibe in mind, and I finally got two nights of awesome sleep. I'm still working on destressing and unwinding, and it's Sunday night already. I found some great quotes on Pinterest that really motivated me to actually do work this weekend, especially since the great weather makes really want to just sit an chill outside. But I've compiled a list to get through the week

Midterms are coming up, the temperature is dropping, and I really need to keep that start of school enthusiasm flame burning. Any good deed and any motivation is appreciated. :)

1. "A diamond is merely a lump of coal that did well under pressure."

YOU are a JEWEL and DON'T EVER FORGET IT.

2. "If you're going to be thinking, you may as well think big." - Donald Trump

Go big or go home (this is my motto every time I go out, but this applies everyday too).

3. "Opportunity does not knock, it presents itself when you beat down the door." - Kyle Chandler

Sometimes the playing field isn't equal, and you just have to do what you need to to get the opportunities you want and deserve. It takes hard work and courage, but it's always worth it.

4. "If you're going through hell, keep going." - Winston Churchill

There is a light at the end of the tunnel (week), and it comes in the form of your ideal Friday night, whether that's staying in or going out.

5. "It takes sunshine and rain to make a rainbow. There would be no rainbows without sunshine and rain." - Roy T. Bennett

Out here in the suburbs of Philadelphia, it was pretty rainy last week, and the weather was dreary. BUT this week is supposed to be sunny and bright, and Friday afternoon and Saturday was absolutely beautiful. Just remember that after the storm is always sunshine.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
