Thanksgiving break is now over, and the countdown ’til Christmas has officially begun. It’s so close, yet so far! The worst part is that final exams are standing in the way of this glorious day. Now, I am a strong believer in procrastination. I know it’s not smart to procrastinate at all, but I can never find the motivation for schoolwork! And when Christmas break is so close, all the random stuff I learn in class is being overshadowed by various Christmas jingles. It’s really difficult to persevere through this difficult time. It’s actually getting really bad.
I really needed to find a solution to get through this difficult time, so I looked up some pretty good, motivational quotes to help inspire me to pick up the books and study a little bit! Hopefully, this helps those struggling as much as I am.
“What you do today can improve all your tomorrows.”
-Ralph Marston
“Don’t watch the clock; do what it does. Keep going.”
-Sam Levenson
“If you are not willing to risk the usual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.”
-Jim Rohn
"To be successful, you must accept all challenges that come your way. You can't just accept the ones you like."
-Mike Gafka
"Whenever you see a successful person you only see the public glories, never the private sacrifices to reach them."
-Vaibhav Shah
"I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination."
-Jimmy Dean
"If you don't value your time, neither will others. Stop giving away your time and talents--start charging for it."
-Kim Garst
"Life is not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself."
-Lolly Daskal
"All progress takes place outside the comfort zone."
-Michael John Bobak
" If you want to achieve excellence, you can get there today. As of this second, quit doing less-than-excellent work."
-Thomas J. Watson
"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing–that's why we recommend it daily."
-Zig Ziglar
"The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary."
-Vidal Sassoon
"The road to success and the road to failure are almost exactly the same."
-Colin R. Davis
"The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don't define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them."
-Denis Waitley
I feel like these quotes are very applicable to everyone’s life, and not just regarding school. It’s difficult to find the willpower to do things that we don’t exactly want to do, but doing things we aren’t necessarily fond of or used to is how we grow as people. Everyone says that hard work pays off in the end, and I'm really hoping that's the case.
But I really thought these quotes were helpful with my motivational issues. I'm beginning to write them on post-its and stick them in my planner or in my room, so that I can always find that source of inspiration. Hopefully this helps you guys as well and encourages you to work hard for the next couple of weeks before Christmas break!
