I love the saying “allergic to Mondays” because I know some Mondays I can 100 percent relate. But hopefully a few of these tips will help to get rid of those Monday morning blues.

1. It could always be worse.

You woke up this morning and you are breathing. That’s all that really matters. Do your best to make today the best you can. Put a smile on your face and just roll with it.

2. Get your shit done so you can go home and sleep.

I don’t know about you but I absolutely love my sleep and if some days is may have to be my only motivation and that is OK. If knowing I get to go home to snuggle up in my comfy bed when I’m just too tired to function. It will help me get through the day.

3. If you're going to work at least you're making money.

Always try to think of at least something positive that’s happening today. Go make the dough and bring it home. Do what you gotta do. Some days may not be the best. But if you keep telling yourself you are making that money it’ll help. Bring home the bacon folks.

4. If you're going to school at least you're spending money to make money someday.

Now this is what I’m dealing with right now. And I can tell you it is hard to find the motivation sometimes to get up and go to class on Monday mornings. You have to keep in the back of your mind that it will all be over soon enough and you are doing this to make yourself happy and to have the job that will soon be the job of your dreams. Keep chasing your dreams and do not give up. There may come a time where giving up seems like the only answer. But do not feed into that. Hard work always pays off.

5. Do your best at whatever you are doing today because it will pay off in the long run.

Trying your best and putting your best foot forward will make the day so much better and go by a lot faster. If you mope around and complain all day it will only make the day worse and make the day feel like forever. Stay positive and upbeat all day and you will before you know it be on your way home to enjoy the rest of your evening.

6. Always wake up and try to make every day the best day ever.

If you have this attitude every morning when you wake up. Nothing can stop you. Waking up in the morning with a positive mind set makes the biggest difference. Maybe wake up to your favorite music, drink a nice cup of coffee, don’t immediately get on social media, do some stretches. Whatever gets you up and running quickly and keeps you positive. Get in the groove of doing some of those little things and it could make a wonderful difference in your day to day lifestyle.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
