If you're like me, you grew up watching classic Nickelodeon cartoons like The Ren And Stimpy Show (which I wasn't really allowed to watch), Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold!, Rugrats, Cat Dog, Doug, Angry Beavers, The Wild Thornberries, Rocket Power, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, KaBlam!, and, of course, SpongeBob SquarePants. Most of us kids born in the 1990s still lament the fact that all of these shows (save for ol' SpongeBob) are no longer on the air or only running via syndication. I do not exaggerate when I say these shows literally shaped our formative years more than parents or school ever could. You say TV rots your brain, I say "MOVE IT FOOTBALL HEAD!" Those are the life lessons really worth passing on, aren't they?
Well, every '90s kid can now shake off their depression due to the gaping void the absence of these shows causes each and every painful day of our lives. Nick's parent company, Paramount, announced that it will be cramming all of its beloved '90s Nicktoons into an Avengers-esque movie. Apparently, it'll be a mixture of animation and live action in the vain of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Space Jam. I guess you can group Cool World in their too, but no one ever does. They've already had success with this crossover when it came to both SpongeBob movies and and two made-for-tv Fairly OddParents features with Drake Bell.
I don't care if this a cash grab meant to pander to people like me. Paramount can have my social security number if it means I get to see my childhood up on the silver screen, even for one last time. I'm literally bursting with excitement for something we may not see for years. So many of the shows were left with no closure. Did Arnold ever travel to Central America to find his parents and the Green Eyed People? What ever came of Eliza's talent of speaking with animals? I must know the answers and now I will! And who knows, maybe Reptar will stomp around New York or something. Someone better get Eddie Valiant on the phone.
