I don’t know if it’s just me but traveling is the best and most exciting thing ever! Going on a trip over winter break or anytime soon?! Here are some airplane or car ride essentials that you need to add to your carry-on! They will guarantee happy and smooth travels!
1. Headphones
Nothing makes time go by faster than listening to your favorite music. Make a playlist before your trip, so that you can press shuffle and look out the window and be a happy little human bean.
2. Portable charger
Since traveling can get boring, that means our phone batteries run out really easy. A portable charger can solve all of those issues! Just don’t forget to charge your portable charger... #GUILTY!
3. Water
Being hydrated is so important, especially while traveling! I always love having water with me on travel days. Also, try and carry a water bottle onto the plane, so that you aren’t stuck with the mini cups with no top that they give you!
4. Snacks
Granola bars, fruit snacks or anything small and compact would be the perfect snack for a long day of traveling. Plus, the more snacks you eat, the more room you’ll have in your bag for souvenirs!
5. Travel sized toiletries
Lugging around a full sized bottle of anything is something that both you and me just don’t have time for. Go to any grocery store or pharmacy and they will have everything you need, promise! Plus, THEY’RE ALL SO CUTE! (dry shampoo, deodorant, oil blotting sheets, mini hair brush, Advil, lip balm, hand sanitizer etc!)
6. Gum
It doesn’t only keep you minty fresh but it also helps unplug your ears after they’ve been popped in the sky!
7. Neck pillow
These will save you on the early morning or late night flights/car rides. Nobody wants to be exhausted and not able to sleep, that ruins all the fun! These pillows save the world.
8. Entertainment
There’s nothing worse than sitting in the middle seat of the airplane and having absolutely nothing to do but stare at your feet. Bring something to keep you preoccupied, and set a goal to finish a book or a movie that you’ve never seen! (Book, laptop, iPad, homework(ew), magazine, coloring book, etc.)
Last but not least, remember to pack smart and travel light! Bring just a backpack if it’s possible! That means you can skip checking a bag and waiting for that never ending conveyor belt to bring your suitcase around. This might seem impossible, but you won’t regret it! Traveling light is much more pleasant that carrying around a million bags. You don’t need nearly as much as you think you do, keep it simple! Safe travels!
