What does it mean to be a Mindful eater?

A Mindful Eater is someone that is passionate about reducing food waste. In order to combat food waste, Mindful Eaters shop smart and raise awareness in order to help bring an end to the global food waste issue.

Apt Ads, an agency out of Rochester, NY, created a colorful campaign to not only spread awareness on food waste but to show shoppers different ways they can help combat this growing issue.

Why is it such a big deal?

Food is wasted at every stage of
production. This amounts to:
• One-third of consumable food
• 1.6 billion tons yearly
• 40% of all food at retail never leaving shelves

What the heck can I do?

Products with the Mindful Eater Approved Seal have been verified by the campaign to help combat the food waste issue. These products are:
• Packaged with
smaller portions
• Produced by companies aiming to
reduce waste

Shop smart and realistically.

Take this loaf of bread. By buying only what you can consume, you can help reduce food waste and save money. Other items that feature the Mindful Eater Approved Seal include companies who create minimal portions, which allows consumers benefits in financial savings and freshness.
