It's that time of year again.

Dear College,

It's not me, it's you. It is not my procrastination and lack of inspiration, it's your constant need to put problems in my life. Week after week, day after day it is always a problem with you. It's either, "What's the product of this reaction?" or "Who is the father of sociology?" If there isn't a problem today, then there was one yesterday called a "midterm" and tomorrow called an "exam." I'm always stressed or sleepy or both. To be honest, we have reached this point where I am just not interested in you in anymore. We just need to give each other some space, because right now this isn't working.

Sincerely,

Mid-Semester Student

It's that time of the year when it's somewhere in the middle of the semester and you have no desire to go to class, no motivation to get out of bed, and it just seems like test after test. You just need spring break to be here so you can get your head above water, but it is so far away. You just want to hibernate in your bed and binge watch your favorite show on Netflix, but college keeps getting in the way. So in honor of all the Netflix I wish I was watching, here is the mid-semester blues explained from the best of the best on Netflix.

When anyone asks you about school

When before you can do anything, you have to college first

When you're doing your homework

But in the middle of the exam, like

When you procrastinated for so long, but now you have no time left

After that one exam you were so prepared for

When you finally had enough

Then you try to cope with it all

Or you call for help

Or you just try and cope with it again

But at the end of the day, or week, or mid-semester blues

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
