You made sure to have a real tree this Christmas, and even decorated it with colorful lights and sparkling ornaments. Of course, the milk and cookies you prepared are perfectly set beside the tree along with the most comfortable chair you could find, all for good ole Saint Nick to sit in. You reminisce on the various Santa's laps you've sat on and recall asking for the same gift every single time. You've checked your list way more than twice, highlighted, circled, and underlined that one item you desire above all others. You admire your masterpiece, give yourself a round of applause, sigh in contempt, and lastly head to bed, with nothing but serene thoughts and a feeling of closure. You end your day knowing that all you have done this season was worth the effort.

After what was the shortest but felt like the longest sleep cycle ends, you rise out of bed like the undertaker, with eyes bigger than a baby pug's, and jet to the tree, while waking everyone in your family up. To your surprise, only half of one of the cookies you prepared were eaten, and the milk glass was completely full.....OK Nicolaus. Amongst all the gifts, you lock your eyes onto one special box, wrapped with the most luxurious wrapping and tied with prettiest bow. The time has come, as your family gathers around. You whip out your tape measure and find the box to be 48inches long and just over 2feet high, not the exact measurements you predicted, but whatever. Your heart throbs viciously as you begin to carefully tear apart the gift box, tears form, and your hands shake. Finally, after all this time waiting, and your perfect planning you get to enjoy that one thing that's been on your mind since even before the holiday season. You rip through all the encasing to find......
.
F*** what you found! What you received was not what you wanted, who the hell puts ugly sweaters on their Christmas list? The tag says from grandma...F*** grandma! You frantically tear apart your other gifts only to find more irrelevant and half-assed gifts from your relatives. You receive more clothes, candy, soap, and stuffed animals. What went wrong? You did everything right and made it obvious what you wanted.....
Your final gift did not come wrapped and was completely unexpected. It was warm and comforting, much like an ugly sweater but without the ugly. You realize what you wanted could never be more important than want you needed.....FAMILY. They embraced you and gifted you their love. They knew from the start that all you really wanted was a little love in your life.
