It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. I love Christmas season and I guess you could say it is a little early, but who cares. I go out of my way to do every Christmas activity there is. I just wish Christmas could be celebrated from September to February. Everything about it just puts me in a good mood. The lights, the cookies, but most importantly: the movies. Getting all snuggled up on the couch with some coco and a good Christmas movie is my favorite winter activity. Why play in the snow when you can be all warm and cuddly? Everyone knows the classics, but here is a list of my favorites if you want to add some to your list.
Elf
A total classic. Everything about Elf makes it wonderful. The fact that I was alive during the Elf era makes it that much better. It is relevant and funny to all ages. This is a movie FOR EVERYONE. This might be a bold statement, but if you don’t like Elf, I don’t like you.

A Christmas Story
This might be a little older, but still cracks me up. This movie is timeless and everyone remembers what it’s like being a kid at Christmas time. This movie has lots of iconic moments in it; the lamp, sticking your tongue to a cold pole, and let’s not forget “you’ll shoot your eye out." This is a good one to watch with your parents, because chances are this is one of their favorite movies.

It’s a Wonderful Life
This movie is so underrated. It has a great moral of the story and makes you all touchy feely around the holidays. Even if you are down about other things It’s a Wonderful Life reminds you that it is Christmas and you actually have a lot to be grateful for.

A year without a Santa Claus
This is by far my favorite stop motion animated movie. Something about it makes me feel like a kid again. This movie has all of the best songs and well, it’s just great. Do I really need to explain it?

Love Actually
This is a good Christmas transition movie, I have already watched it and it’s still November. It is about Christmas, but it’s also a rom com. It is every girl’s dream to combine Christmas with rom com’s. It might just be my dream, but I think it is pretty fantastic.

Harry Potter
Does Harry Potter count? Is there a rule guide because I am honestly not sure, but I want to count. I feel like Hallmark is always doing the Harry Potter marathons around the holidays. So if you are completely tired of Christmas movies turn here please. They do celebrate Christmas in it so it is close enough. Also Harry Potter movies make me feel good so I’ll stick it in the Christmas movie category.

The Grinch (Cartoon)
I was never into the real life Grinch movie with Jim Carrey. It seriously freaked me out. I like old school. The old cartoon version reminds me of a time when I was in elementary school and had Christmas parties. We would craft ornaments out of pretzels for our parents while the Grinch was playing in the background. What a time to be alive.

Home Alone
Are you alone this christmas? Don't worry Kevin McCallister is too. This movie is if you really don't want to be too mushy. It gets a little touchy feely at the end, but hey it's Christmas. This movie makes me wish I was at creative as he was, but at the same time I don't want to get robbed when I'm home alone. Either way, a good watch on a snow day.

These movies are Megan Ferguson's top Christmas movie picks and I know everyone has been dying to hear what they were. But in all seriousness I love Christmas and these movies make me feel happy and I hope you all enjoy them and possibly add them to the list of movies you watch every Christmas season.
