Not too long ago, the talk of the makeup world was James Charles. James Charles, a high school senior from New York, was the first male Covergirl. It shook the entire beauty community. Makeup has become more and more popular amongst men. Now, there is a new male beauty guru for another makeup company-- Manny Gutierrez. He is now the face and ambassador for the new Maybelline Big Shot mascara.

Manny, also know as "Manny Mua", is best-known from YouTube. He has a huge following of over TWO MILLION subscribers. He does makeup tutorials on different looks, collaborates with many other well-known YouTubers and is a beauty vlogger (video blogger). Making Gutierrez the face of Maybelline's new line is yet another ground-breaking move by a major company to further diversify the makeup community.

I think that men wearing makeup is a huge step-up in society. Not long ago, it was not socially acceptable for men and boys to be wearing makeup. Still, not everyone agrees with it. Makeup is art; it is a form of self-expression and I believe that everyone should be entitled to express themselves in whatever way they'd like, whether it be through beauty or fashion or any other aspect of life. It is guys like Gutierrez who are making a difference in society and showing other young men and women that it is okay to wear makeup. It is okay to be you and flaunt it even if not everyone agrees. My only hope is that more makeup companies get on board with this and sign men to be the face of their makeup lines. I'm all about girl power, but it's okay to change things up and be different. Life would be boring if we all were the same.

I've been following Gutierrez on social media for a while now. I have even tried out some of his looks and I must say, he can rock them ten times better. Not only is he beautiful, but his personality is one of a kind. He's funny, influential, and must be doing something right to have such a huge online following. He makes it very clear at the beginning of his videos that if you don't like him or his content, then don't watch him. There will always be hate on the internet, but Manny makes sure that everyone knows that he doesn't stand for it and even if you leave a dislike the video or leave a hate comment, he frankly doesn't care. Kudos to Maybelline for picking such an awesome male for the face of their new makeup product. They couldn't have picked a better candidate.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
