If you're like me, it just hit you that summer is already almost over and you've barely done half the things you wanted to. Luckily there is still time to squeeze a few more "insta-worthy" things into your summer. Here are a few ideas to get you started on a last-minute summer bucket list.
1. Find somewhere cool to go hiking for a day---and shut off your phone while you're at it.
2. Go to a music festival or an outdoor concert---because that's an atmosphere you just can't beat.
3. Rent a couple kayaks or a canoe and go out on a nearby river or lake with a few friends---you'll even get a great arm workout in.
4. Check out a local farmer's market---fresh flowers and produce are always a great thing to have around your house.
5. Print out pictures and start a picture collage on a wall in your room---it'll give your room a little freshening up.
6. Have a cookout with a few friends---because nothing is better than fresh grilled food.
7. Check out if there are any local or state fairs coming up---loads of fried food, local vendors, cute farm animals and carnival rides are just a few of the positives to this one.
8. Have a movie night with your roommates---don't forget the popcorn and wine.
9. Go to a museum or aquarium---it's the perfect thing to do on a rainy day instead of sitting on your couch and watching Netflix the whole day.
10. Have a bonfire and roast s'mores---duh.
11. Do a DIY project---it'll bring out your creative side and give you something to show off next time you have a bunch of people over at your place.
12. Take a pool or beach day---spending the day out in the sun is what summer is really all about.
13. Buy an herb plant (and see how long you can keep it alive)---Fresh herbs make homemade meals that much better.
14. Go thrift shopping---you never know what you might find.
15. Brunch, brunch, brunch---with Mimosas or Bloody Marys preferably.
16. Read a good book---it'll give you another random thing to talk about when there are lulls in conversation.
17. Find a go-to sangria recipe---it tastes way better than cheap beer on a hot summer day.
18. Go to a baseball game---minor league baseball games aren't very expensive and a lot of the time will have great deals on food and drinks.
19. Make homemade fruit popsicles or ice cream---or at least attempt it.
Most importantly, just try to enjoy your last few weeks of summer before classes start. Sleep in. Hang out with your friends as you all slowly return to your college town. Do whatever, just have a good time!
