15 Reasons My Wedding WILL BE Open Bar, You're Welcome Friends

A wedding is such a special season of life for a couple. It's a time to celebrate all the couple was and what they will become. When I am engaged and planning my wedding I WILL be having an open bar because of these reasons.

It's a tradition.

Toasting at a wedding is always a tradition. If you don't have alcohol, what are you going to toast with? Apple juice? That might be great for the kids but tacky for the adults.

It's a good transition from dating to married life.

If you're like me, I met my boyfriend in college and we've have our share of partying it up experiences. Having alcohol at your wedding is the perfect transition from that party stage to the mature, married stage. Think of it as your last big party to kick off your adulting years.

Might as well spend more money.

I'm already spending $10,000 - $20,000 on my wedding so what's another couple thousand? You only have a wedding once so might as well spend the money and make it memorable rather than saving that money.

It will subside the nerves.

I doubt I will get nervous on my wedding day, but in the event I do, having some alcohol at my wedding will help me to relax and enjoy the day.

I don't want to regret it.

I've talked to some brides who had dry weddings whether they chose to or couldn't swing it financially, but they all agreed that one thing they would re-do about their wedding is having alcohol. I don't want to have that kind of regret.

It will get people on the dance floor.

Let's be honest: there are some friends and family members that you want to have at your wedding, but it takes some alcohol to get them up and dancing. Alcohol always boosts confidence and gets attendees into a dancing mood.

It reduces any tensions.

What does a family member want to do when they run into another family member they don't like? Drink. Having a drink or two helps relax people and reduces any tensions there might be. It will be much more enjoyable when your family isn't fighting or butting heads.

I like to treat my guests.

I am always a giving person and love making an event a fun time. Although not necessary, providing alcohol at a wedding can be a treat to guests. I want to treat my guests to a great night out that is full of fun, laughter, celebration and of course booze,

I don't want my guests to pay.

Although I will spend a decent amount of money on a wedding, I will be receiving LOTS of gifts, and parties leading up to my wedding day from my guests. That is a lot of money my guests have already spent on me, and my bridesmaids already spent a lot too. I want my guests to enjoy the night and not have to pay even more for a cash bar or for bringing their own.

I really don't want a cash bar.

To put it bluntly, I just don't like the idea of cash bars. Either have an open bar or no bar at all.

Limited bars, well, are limiting.

I personally like mixed drinks rather than beer and wine. Limited bars are nice because you do have beer and wine at least, but people may prefer mixed drinks. With an open bar you can meet nearly everyone's tastes, making it for an even better time.

It's one less aspect to plan.

With an open bar, there is no need to calculate or estimate the cost of alcohol. You don't have to spend time picking and choosing wines, beers, or signature drinks then.

It's friendlier for dietary needs.

Any guests that are gluten-free can't drink that beer, and some guests can't drink that wine. With an open bar it allows all guests to choose their own drinks based on their needs and wants.

It's not a celebration without alcohol.

If anyone knows me, I don't drink much alcohol. Ever. However, I love having a drink or two for any celebration and I honestly think a big event is not a celebration without some alcohol.

It's going to be the best wedding it could be.

No matter what happens, my wedding day is going to be one of the best days of my life. A wedding is so much more memorable when your guests have fun, dance, and all around enjoy themselves. With an open bar it will put guests in the best of moods and they'll make it fun. Therefore, having an open bar is going to make it the best wedding it could be.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
