With the summer season already half way through, many worry they may not get enough out of their summer. While work may take up a large amount of your summertime in the sun, there is still ample opportunity to spend your summer time wisely. Here are some things you can do to make the most out of your summer.

1. Knock off something from your bucket list.

If you don't have one already, make yourself a bucket list! These lists are a great way to display your goals, hopes, and dreams. With more time in the summer, you can definitely cross something off the list to make your summer more memorable.

2. Take a vacation.

As a college student, I know how hard it can be to vacation when you have such a low budget. Road trips are a great way to get out there without the hassle of spending so much money. If you're hitting the road alone, check this article out that I wrote recently.

If a road trip is not your thing, try a staycation. Many don't realize the places they can discover in their own town. So try to travel around your town and see what places you can find to relax.

3. Volunteer.

A rewarding activity can be volunteering. Whether it's going to a soup kitchen or cleaning up your local beach, it can make you feel good.

4. Try something new.

Summer can give you extra time on your hands, so why not try something new? If you don't really know how to cook, take a class or try to make a recipe one night. We get so stuck in the same routine, and changing it up with something new can be fun and exciting.

5. Work on your backyard.

Enjoying the good weather while working on your backyard can be fun. Gardening is a great way to zone out of the daily routine and make your backyard look pretty.

6. Pick up a new book.

There is no better feeling than opening a new book while sitting on the beach. The ocean breeze with your nose in the book can feel amazing. Check out your local library for some new books that just hit the shelves.

7. Find a farmers' market.

There's nothing like getting fresh produce and foods from a farmers' market. When buying from farmers' markets, you also support local farmers, so find one near you.

8. Go to a carnival or fair.

When summer comes, carnivals and fairs can be spotted everywhere. Bring a friend or some family and you can definitely have fun going on a ride or eating some carnival food.

9. Capture the moment.

When summer vacation ends and everyone asks how your summer was, you feel as if the summer just flashed by. Avoid this by taking pictures of your summer. Whether it be sitting by the pool, going to the beach, or just hanging out with friends, take pictures to remember your summer fun.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
