We all know that sometimes it takes a lot to actually get up and start truly loving yourself. It may take days, months or even years to fully understand that God made you this way for a reason. We need to realize that we're beautifully made in the eyes of God. He also teaches us to not only love ourselves but to also love our neighbors and enemies. Here are six scriptures that teach us to love ourselves, neighbors, and your enemies especially the ones who have talked down to you and tell you that you're not a beautiful person.
1. Psalm 139:14 "I will give thanks to you because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Your works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this."
2. Ephesians 5:29 "For no one has ever hated his own body, but he nourishes and tenderly cares for it, as the Messiah does the church."
3. Proverbs 19:8 "To acquire wisdom is to love oneself; people who cherish understanding will prosper."
4. Matthew 5:43-44 "You have heard the law that says, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!"
5. Mark 12:31 "And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”
6. Luke 6:27 "But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you."
God will never leave us nor forsake us and he made us in the image of Him. You're not a mistake and you will never be a mistake. You are far from a failure in the eyes of God. You're His beautiful child and He will love you no matter what you may do in the near future.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11
