In everyone’s lives, they come across someone that means the absolute world to them. I believe that family is everything and without it, your life wouldn’t be the way it is now. I love everyone in my family, including my pets! Everyone’s had a part to play in the movie that is my life. The person that impacted my life was my grandpa. There was so much that I loved about him and he was such an inspiration to me. There’s always something that I wished I would have said to him or something that I wish I could give to give.
When I was in 7th grade, my grandpa died from lung cancer. He’d been battling it for multiple years. When he passed away, I was a bit of a mess. I was constantly crying and not wanting to be anywhere but the band room or the barn. I wasn’t entirely sure how to compose myself. It’s hard to get over something like this. I don’t think anyone every really does get over something tragic such as this, but slowly comes to terms with the fact that they’re gone.
Everyone needs to understand that people passing on is a part of life. I only wish that I would’ve known that 7 years ago. There’s things that I wish I would’ve done beforehand. If I could say anything to my grandpa, it would I’m so sorry for not always listening to you when we talked on the phone. I’m sorry that I didn’t come to visit more often. I’m sorry that I didn’t make an effort to try and talk to you. I’m forever grateful for everything that you’ve taught me and I’m so thankful to have had you in my life. I can never repay you for all of the amazing memories you’ve given me over the years. I love you, Grandpa.
I know this is a short article for this week, but I want you to take a moment and love the people that are still around you and I want you to cherish the memories that you have with your loved ones that have passed. Take it from me, there are so many things that I wish I could have said to my grandpa. I want you to love your family, as well as those that are close to you. I’d do anything to have my grandpa back again so when I tell you to cherish who you have in your life now, please please do it. I promise that you’ll come to love the memories you’ve made.
