There's a special place in my heart for the North, and a special place for the South. I don't think I'll ever be able to pick one over the other. The South is what made me who I am today, though, and this list of (mostly food-related) things could go on. I know I'm not the only one who knows that life wouldn't be the same without these Southern gems.

1. Sweet Tea

2. Also pretty much everything is sweet actually.

3. The Publix bakery

4. People are polite.

5. Biscuits

6. Ma’am and sir

7. Wrap-around porches

8. Everything is fried, and when vegetables are fried, they’re still healthy.

9. Catching lightning bugs.

10. Tables get set with china and cloth napkins.

16. Southern hospitality is definitely a thing.

17. Floral print clothing.

18. Barbecue means barbecue, not hot dogs and hamburgers.

19. Cheerwine

20. Pickup trucks.

21. Snow is fictional.

22. River tubing

23. All hearts are blessed.

24. Cajun food

25. Country music

26. Spanish moss

27. People don’t get offended.

33. Monograms

34. Line and square dancing

35. People work hard

36. Flannel button-downs

37. John Deere

38. Butter on all of the things

39. Cornbread

40. Peaches

41. Really, though, just the fruit in general. Freshly picked, obviously.

42. People hold the doors open

43. Grits

44. Honey and sugar are not only baking ingredients, but also terms of endearment.

45. Fresh veggies from the garden.

46. The second amendment is well known and well loved.

47. Everyone wears britches.

48. Pie

49. A lot of Southerners love Jesus.

50. You can take the girl out of the South, but you can’t take the South out of the girl.

I'm a proud Georgia Peach and I always will be. If you don't love the South, then bless your heart.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
