Recently I stumbled upon this from R.H. Sin, "She wanted someone to love and so she fell for herself."
No words have even spoken more powerfully to me.
I'm allowed to love myself. I'm allowed to be happy with my personality and body and though they may not be perfect, I am allowed to love them nonetheless. In today's society it is so hard to actually learn to love yourself. Like so many other people my age, I have struggled with loving who I am. However, I have finally reached a point in my life where I don't need the approval of others to look in the mirror and say, "Yeah, I like that person looking back at me." And even though I may not love myself 24/7, I have come such a long way to not be proud of my self-love. So I decided to take the time and think of a few reasons as to why I love myself and hopefully these will remind you of all of the wonderful reasons you should love yourself too.
1. My nose piercing and tattoo
2. My cheekbones
3. My sarcasm
4. My obsession with lame and corny jokes
5. The slight dimple I have on my left cheek when I smile just the right way
But the point of this isn't for me to share a list of reasons of why I love myself. The point is to encourage you to take the time to do the same about yourself no matter how lame or silly that may seem. Instead of looking at yourself in the mirror and tearing yourself apart, stand tall and build yourself up. You deserve to feel sexy and confident in your own skin and to smile because of it.
Wear what you look and feel good in. Think about what makes you stand out from everyone else and why that makes you such a special person. Do not for a second ever doubt your greatness, because I have no doubt that you are extraordinary.
Never forget to love yourself, because there are few things more important. There is nothing wrong with loving the way your butt looks in those jeans or singing your favorite song even though you know you're off-key. Show yourself off for the kick-ass person you are. Because it's not conceited; there's nothing wrong with being happy with who you are.
