I remember the very moment my parents told me that I was going to be a big sister, I was five, I hoped and prayed that I would have a little sister! Well, come to find out it was a boy... all I could do was cry. I was so upset. I did not want a smelly, annoying, mess making brother. I wanted a little sister that I could play with, do her hair, and talk with. I was not looking forward to having a little brother but, I didn't really have a choice.
We adopted a little boy two days before my birthday. He has officially been part of our family for two years. He fostered him when he was 5 days old. He is the sweetest and the cutest four-year-old boy ever!
Growing up with a brother who is four years younger than I am has taught me a few things. One, They are always there to pester you. They will be the first ones to make a joke about you. Second, they like to wrestle with you. They try and make it look like you started it to get you in trouble. Lastly, they will always look up to you. No matter what you do, how you act, or what you say you are always setting the example and they will follow even move you make.
Having a little brother that is four years old is quite interesting. There is so much energy and laughter in our house. He is so much fun to be around! He brings me joy every time I am with him.
Despite all the wrestling, arguments over stupid stuff, and beating each other up, I have loved having brothers. Having brothers has taught me things that sisters don't. They may be stinky, messy and irritating at times but I wouldn't have it any other way.
