In today's world, same sex marriage and being gay is still thought of as an issue and it is really upsetting. So many people treat homosexuals as if they are animals when they state some of their opinions, and it disgusts me to a point of no return. I believe that if a man is able to marry a woman that he purchased, or even if a couple were marrying because of an arrangement, then a couple that loves each other and supports each other should be able to get married no matter what their gender is.
I personally do not understand why so many people have a problem with homosexuals, because they are not hurting anyone or imposing on anyone's life besides the fact that they just do not want to see it, that it disgusts them, or they do not want their kids to see it. News flash! It is 2016 you see people showing each other affection everyday, look away if you do not want to see it.
Also, kids are more accepting than adults and they do not learn behaviors from them, they just see another couple in love. Gay parents are sometimes the best parents to grow up with because they fought so hard for their family, so when they finally get one the are always so invested in their kids activities and those kid grow up in some of the most loving homes, and that is what makes a family. A family is not just growing up with a mother and father, it is growing up with parents/parent that loves and supports you.
I hate seeing how many people are against same sex marriage because I believe that it is none of their business, no one is forcing you to marry someone of the same sex. They just want to live a normal life with the rest of society and be able to marry, have children, and grow old with their husbands or wives. I do not understand why it is so hard for so many people to accept the fact that they are people too, and that they want and value many of the same things that you do.
If two eighteen year old kids can decide that they want to be married for the rest of their lives, then two forty year old women that have been together since high school should be able to get married too. This is a country built off of freedom, so why are they not allowed to be free and make the same decisions that you can? You cannot choose the person you fall in love with, so why should someone else get to choose who you can and cannot marry?
