I have heard it so many times before. I am not a reader. I just have never been able to find a book I like. I get bored. I don't have time. On and on and on people continue to make excuses about why they never pick up a book. My family loves to read. We all read any chance we get. We exchange books and talk about them forever. I believe that everyone can be a reader. You just have to keep searching until you find the right book. There are books out there for everyone. Don't waste time reading books you don't like. Keep searching until you find one you love. Check out my recommendations below. I hope it inspires you to pick up a book. I have included books of all different kinds, as well as sizes. I love reading and want everyone else to as well.
1. "The Great Gatsby"
"The Great Gatsby" is a classic for sure. I love the atmosphere that "The Great Gatsby" is set in. The 1920s seemed like such a fun time, at least in the book. The glitz and glamour make all the drama and romance even more exciting and fun to follow along with.
2. The "Harry Potter" series
"Harry Potter" is my favorite book series of all time. I love traveling to the wizarding world any chance I can get. It's relatable, but also the step away from my real life that I need sometimes. It takes you back to your childhood and teaches you great life lessons all at the same time. Be prepared, because once you start, there is no turning back.
3. "Year of Yes"
I have already dedicated a post to this book, so that just lets you know how much I like it. If you like "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal," or "How to Get Away with Murder," check out this book. It will inspire and encourage you to be your best.
4. "To Kill a Mockingbird"
"To Kill a Mockingbird" is a classic that everyone should read. It is very well written and teaches some great life lessons. Even if you have already read this, I think it's a great book to read again.
5. "Saint Anything"
"Saint Anything" is a coming of age story that is relevant to those who are 13 or 23. "Saint Anything" helps you realize you are not the only one who is unsure of your life and the choices you are making.
6. "Bossypants"
Tina Fey is hilarious, enough said. This book will have you laughing out loud.
7. "The Nest"
I put this book on the list because I have heard some great things about it and want to check it out. I'll let you know what I think.
8. "Since You've Been Gone"
"Since You've Been Gone" is a great book about friendships and how important they can be. Life changes, but that does not mean friendships have to.
9. The "I Am Number Four" series
"I Am Number Four" was not a book I expected to like, but I was wrong. The young aliens in the book are battling to save the universe, but are still enduring problems that all teenagers in America go through, such as figuring out dating and friendships.
10. "The Orphan Train"
"The Orphan Train" gives you a glimpse into similar situations from the past and the present. "The Orphan Train" is a very interesting book that you can learn a lot from.
Now I know what you're thinking, what does one girl's opinion really matter? Just because she likes it, does that mean everyone does?
