"I Lost My Headphones"

In This Article:

Nothing is worse than leaving your house or your dorm thinking you have everything together only to realize you forgot something. Here at 8 things that I and other college students have forgotten.

1.) Headphones/Dongle

So far in my two years of college, I have found and misplaced the same pair of headphones at least 7 times. In-between not having them I try to use other headphones. But then I either forget that my iPhone requires a Dongle, or the headphones already have one attached. Making the pair of headphones completely useless unless I am strictly using them with my phone. Then without the Dongle, I can't use it with my phone but I can use it with my computer. The problems are never ending with this one.

2.) Lecture Notes

Nothing is worst then forgetting to grab your pre-printed notes before running out the door. When this happens I'm always faced with a difficult decision. Do I walk back to my dorm and grab my notes and risk being late to class, or do I reprint them and waste not only paper but printing credit. It's a double-edged sword because either way, I need them for class.

3.) Hair Ties

I always do my best to keep a hair tie on me. Whether that is attached to my key or on my wrist, doesn't matter I just need to have one. Although this plan seems like its bulletproof, it's not. Every now and then, when I'm home I'll take my hair out and toss the hair tie somewhere random. Then the next day, there's no hair tie on my keys... Now, this is not always the case, because sometimes hair ties just get up and walk away.

4.) Homework

Imagine having a long day, you worked, went to class, now you're sitting in the library about to grind through some homework and.... boom your homework is not in your backpack. Or even better you just got to class and the Professor asks for everyone to turn in their homework and... boom. The part that really grinds my gears is when I did the homework and then forgot to bring it alone.

5.) Keys

Car keys, house keys, keys. If they're small and made of metal it's most likely that they are going to be lost at some point. Whether that is hiding in your room and taking forever to find them, or you leaving the house without them. I strongly believe that keys are one of the easiest things to lose.

6.) ID

Now if you live on campus your ID is your key. On top of that, you can't get anything to eat either if you are on a meal plan. Now a missing ID is not the end of the world, but it will cost you $10 to get a new one. If you're a college student with extra money laying around, by all means, get a new one. But as soon as you do, you're probably going to find you're old one.

7.) Water Bottle

This one is always a big struggle for me. I try really hard every day to remember it, but guess who stays forgetting in the morning? Me! This causes me to eventually buy a water bottle at some point in the day. Which is terrible for the environment compared to using a reusable water bottle

8.) Chapstick

This one is never a problem until you need it. You'll be sitting in class paying attention, then "hm... I think I could use some chapstick" Guess what is nowhere to be found. Exactly what you needed.

Losing things is not the end of the world. But it does make life a little more inconvenient from time to time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
