Keep Your Breakups Private, They Don't Belong On YouTube

Some things are not meant to be shared on Youtube and breakups are one of them.

June 5th, 2018 Liza Koshy and David Dobrik shocked millions of people with the news of their breakup which happened six months ago. Both are very popular in the YouTube community and have developed millions of subscribers over the years. No one saw a breakup coming and hiding this from their subscribers must have been very hard for them to do. However, I believe news of a breakup should not be shared on Youtube. Breakups are hard enough, but with the whole world knowing and possibly scrutinizing this decision can only make it worse. I've already seen "Liza Koshy and David Dobrik Best Moments" videos linked with the breakup video.

The both of them cannot heal properly seeing things like that. I know I wouldn't be able to be on YouTube for a long time because reminders of the person you loved popping up 24/7 are unhealthy to see. I'm proud of them both for taking the time to work on themselves and stay best friends in the process. They are both incredibly strong people for being able to hide this so long, let alone make a video about it for the whole world to see.

I see breaking up as a very private and personal matter that shouldn't involve everyone on the Internet. This is a time you lean on your family and close friends who truly know you. It isn't easy to throw two years of a relationship away, especially when neither person has done anything wrong. Liza and David were both growing apart because both were so busy. Time is not on their side. Maybe one day they will get back together when they have figured out how to rebuild a relationship within two very busy lives.

While watching their video, they both still act like their usual joking selves, but you can see right through this. The pain inside both of them is still there, and I don't foresee either moving on from the other for some time. Both need to work on learning to love themselves and being on their own again before they can even think about romantically involving themselves with another person, or even getting back together.

Making videos is what YouTuber's do, and it is fitting that the both of them decided to do this. I will never know what it's like to be this famous and have to publically announce my breakup to fans since you are basically obligated to do so. Breaking up in the public spotlight seems very unfair to me, but it is something they dealt with privately for months, so it may be slightly easier to cope with since they did have some hidden, much needed private time to themselves.

I wish them both the best, although I still do not agree with the idea of posting a breakup video on YouTube, I know it was what they needed to do. Any privacy they may have had is absolutely gone, and this is what makes me feel the worst for them.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
