Living In A Sorority House

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times (but mainly the best).

Living In A Sorority House

I highly suggest living in your sorority house if you ever get the chance to. It's an opportunity to bond with your sisters and experience college in a whole new way. Before moving in, though, there are some things you need to know.

1. You will never be bored.

You're living in a house with most likely over 50 of your sorority sisters. If you want to find something to do or someone to eat with, I guarantee there is someone to do it with.

2. If you don't like to share, you better learn to.

The saying "what's mine is yours" does not just apply to marriage. When you live in a sorority house you better be prepared to share everything you own, whether it be that cute new pair of shoes you just got or the bag of Doritos you just bought yesterday.

3. "Quiet hours" is a myth.

Sure they say that after 11 p.m. everyone needs to be quiet, but have you ever tried to silence a group of 50 plus stressed and hyper girls? Not effective.

4. The weekends when a lot of people go home are the weirdest things ever.

You would think you'd be relieved to have some peace and quiet, but an empty sorority house is actually one of the creepiest things ever. The adjustment from loud and crowded to dark and silent is depressing and a little scary.

5. Hair is everywhere. Everywhere.

Sure the house gets cleaned everyday, but it is physically impossible to collect all the hair shed by every girl living in house.

6. In reference to #1, the amount of money you spend on food will shoot right up.

You'll be lying in bed at night getting ready to go to sleep, but the minute someone pops their head in and asks if you want to go get Whataburger, you're probably not going to say no.

7. Most importantly, you get to bond with your sisters.

Living in house is a great way to get close with new people. You get so much more interaction with everyone than when you don't live in house, and often it is where you end up finding your best friends.

In conclusion, if you get a chance to move into your sorority house, DO IT. It's hectic and sometimes stressful, but it is unlike anything else you will ever do. You have a whole house of girls there to love and support you when you need it, which is an amazing feeling. You're only in a sorority for four years, so make the most of it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
