To the Lily to my Robin,
So we met almost two years ago, and we have recently realized something. I am Robin. You are Lily. Literally, this is who we are.
You are currently an education major and like working with young children. Lily is a kindergarten teacher who also likes to work with children. She is shorter than her boyfriend/fiance/husband Marshall, and you are shorter than your boyfriend. You're also shorter than me, so that works. You are a voice of reason and a good mediator for situations (if we ever did a slap bet, you'd still be the mediator). You also have your moments where you let loose and have fun. You help to keep me grounded and give me the best advice, which Lily also does for her friends, especially Robin.
I am a broadcasting major and want to work in the television industry. Robin works on television as a news anchor. She is loud and boisterous, and when we first meet her, she is a single Pringle, an independent woman who don't need no man. I hope that I am like this, which you tell me I am every time we talk about this. You have also told me that if I were to be with someone, they would be a combination between Ted and Barney, which I totally agree with. Robin was also a pop star in Canada, and I love singing too.
Robin and Lily are always there for each other. They support each other. There's nothing they wouldn't do for each other. They are, unquestionably, the best of friends.
You always have my back. You are an amazing friend that I can turn to in any situation. You are always willing to help me. I can come talk to you about anything and I know you won't judge, and vice versa. You are like an older sister to me. You are my confidante, the person here that I can tell and talk to about anything. You always know how to make me smile and laugh, but you also know how to make me feel better when I'm down. I am forever grateful that we became friends during the first week of our very first year, and who knew that we would be best friends two years later?
You always make me feel welcomed no matter what (even when I'm totally third-wheeling during your lunch dates with your boyfriend). I am totally lucky to have you in my life, and can't wait to see the adventures we'll have together. I thank God every day for bringing us together because I don't know what I would do without my best friend. Thank you for brightening up my day every day, even if I don't see you. Thank you for accepting me for who I am, from the sullen and sad side of me to the bubbly Robin Sparkle that lives within. You are my rock, and you are always there for me no matter what. Love you, Lily!
With love,
Robin
