Planning is awesome. For an over-planner like myself, it's a daily routine AND a hobby. I can honestly say that few things rival the feeling of successfully planning my day/week/month. Checking off lists and organizing schedules are more tasks that don't feel like a chore, they are sort of fun! Over-planners of the world unite, because we understand it's not our fault we enjoy being organized.
1. Planners are life.
You might have the same exact schedule every week. But you better believe it's going to be written and color coded in your planner. You probably carry your planner with you most places, and the one time you thought you lost it you just about had a heart attack because you didn't know what you had going on for the rest of the week.
2. How many calendars are too many?
The calendar that has a kitten for each month is super cute, but then you also want the calendar that shows you a tropical landscape each month. Then you obviously need the desktop calendar that takes up your whole desk and allows you to write your schedule bigger, and have it at your fingertips. Your email calendar syncs to your phone so you have it on both applications, and you also have a whiteboard calendar just so everyone else can see how awesomely organized you are.
3. I need to know when this is so I can put it in my calendar(s).
Waiting for people to tell you when things are is excruciating. You know there is going to be something eventually, but when? Exactly? I need to pencil it into my four calendars.
4. I'm sorry, I can't go out because have to organize my life.
I'd really like to go and hang out with you guys, but if I go with then I won't know what time I have free to hang out with you the next week. You see, it's actually imperative to our friendship that I stay home and fill out my planner and calendars for the next month because otherwise I will go crazy.
