At some point in our lives, we have all had our moments where we have overthought about a certain thing or situation. It is sometimes a good thing to overthink because it shows that we care and are passionate about certain things. However, there are times when you can overthink to the point that it takes over your life. It can affect your happiness and make things more complicated than they need to be.
When you are thinking of too many things at once, it often leaves you in a confused or angry state. There have been far too many times that I have worked myself up and got angry to the point where I felt that the scenarios in my head were true. Choosing to stay in this state of anger can not only leave you overthinking even more, it can also leave you to ruin or create even more problems from situations. It is important to confront right away what issue or situation is bothering you. If you are someone like me, this is not an easy thing to do. I tend to avoid confrontation like the plague. Overthinking has always been a bad habit of mine.
Everyone who is close to me has always said that I was a worrier. I tend to worry about everything whether it is over my family, friends, grades, and even my future. I can't even sleep when my friends or family are mad at me. I'm the type of person that will stay up at night replaying the situation constantly in my head because that's how much it bothers me. I worry about these things and these people because I care, a lot.
When you are in this state of overthinking, it is important to think about the positive and good things in your life. Think about all the achievements that you made and the important friendships that you have created in your life. Instead of creating scenarios in your head, choose to live in the moment and continue working towards what you really want and care about. It is also important to remember that it is OK if things do not turn out the way that you wanted them to be. There is a path intended for everyone. Whichever path that you go on, as long as you're happy, that is all that matters. Surround yourself with good people and work hard in order to live a happy and fulfilling life. Only you can make this possible for yourself. As someone who overthinks constantly every day, I know that if I think about all these great things, I can finally get myself into a peaceful state of mind.
