The life of a twin can be very different than your typical sibling bond. You really don't understand the bond unless you are also a twin. Whether your twin is identical or fraternal, there is an underlying relationship that only you two understand, but that’s what makes it interesting. If you’re a twin, this one’s for you.
1. You share clothes.
When someone asks where your shirt is from it becomes a habit to say, “Oh it’s ______ (insert twins name) but thanks!” It’s basically mandatory to share clothes if you’re twins.
2. You meet people on a weekly basis who ask if you can feel what your twin feels, or if you can read each other's minds.
When asked, it makes you both want to walk away due to their stupidity.
3. You become known as “the twins.”
You are a packaged deal wherever you go. It can be annoying at times, as people forget the fact that you each have names, but you quickly get used to it.
4. You are in a constant competition with one another.
If you’re anything like my twin and I, we compare everything we do. All through school and now in college, we still compare G.P.A.'s and exam grades. But, that makes us work even harder.
5. You have each other's backs no matter what.
Big or small, you are there for your twin when they need you and even when they don’t. Whether it be covering up a mistake, lending them money or defending them in an argument, you're there.
6. You talk to each other every day.
It may be a few texts back and forth on some days, but even when you are busy, you still make time for your twin. You want to know what they’re up to and how their day went.
7. You know your twin's friends even if you aren’t friends with them.
My twin and I go to different schools, but we still know who they are talking about when they mention someone.
8. You know your twin's strengths and weaknesses.
This comes in handy when you’re in an argument or they need your help practicing for an interview. Honestly, we know them better than they know themselves.
You wouldn’t trade your twin for the world. You have a special relationship that no one else will ever have. If you have a twin, don’t take it for granted because it is such a blessing. Even though you are the same age and get on each other's nerves, you know deep down that you wouldn’t change it for the world.
