5 Signs That Show When Your Life Is In Serious Need of A Reboot

Have you ever found yourself going through the motions, completely unenthused about what tomorrow will bring because each day is like an identical twin from the next? In order to get you back on your feet and feeling inspired to face each day's blessings, do yourself a favor and keep an eye out of some of these signs.

Catch yourself before it's too late and make something out of your tomorrow.

1. The Candy Aisle

You know you're heading for trouble when you're hankering over something sweet yet standing in the middle of the candy aisle looking at all those unappealing options. This is just another form of procrastination.

Whenever you find yourself staring bleary eyed at all that sugary confection, remember that you're probably pining for a sweet life instead of that snickers bar.

2. Wait, how did you get to work again?

I don't know about you, but whenever I'm bogged down by a project that takes more than a week's worth of my time, I end up going on autopilot; and I know when the "auto" takes over when I don't remember how I got from point A to point B. Catch yourself in time and add a little variety in your life before your brain completely erases your trip from home to destination.

3. Time moves too slow, and then the day is over

Have you ever found yourself in that Netflix daze when the hours creep by like days, then suddenly you jerk up and it's pitch black outside? Don't let yourself go down that mudslide.

Instead of spending your entire day in a comatose state of mind, change up your lazy summer routine and make it a goal to check another goal off your summer bucket list. It doesn't have to be extraordinary, reading a couple of self-help books will stimulate your cognitive activity more than that show you've been watching for an indefinite amount of days.

4. The Facebook Scroll

When you have nothing to do, you're the most susceptible to the temptations and influence of social media comparison. If you find yourself "casually" scrolling through your facebook feed or clicking on instagram stories for the "fun of it," you are seriously heading down a dangerous path. Swipe up on those apps and digitally erase the Facebook scroll in order to pursue those dreams; pretty soon they'll come true.

5. The Pacing Path

Have you ever looked down after an intense study or thought processing session to find that you've made a very visible and physical thought trail in your carpet? Do you remember anything that happened around you during that time when you were making your way around your living room for the two hundredth time? Probably not. This is another sign that begs to be recognized when realizing your life needs a reboot.

Don't find yourself not knowing how your day went by, gawking at the twenty different versions of hershey chocolate, not knowing how you got to work, or trying to envision yourself on that Bahamas vacation. If you allow every day of your life to be different from the next, not only will you allow yourself to experience life's little pleasant surprises, you'll find yourself accomplishing more of those goals and adventures you planned but had very little faith you would actually get too. Don't limit yourself, set yourself up to conquer the world.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
