All Hail Queen B

"Fuck feelings. Be a bitch."

I think any girl who has seen Gossip Girl can agree with me when I say that we all wanted to be Blair Waldorf. She had impeccable style, the best strategies, and of course, the one, the only, Chuck Bass. Blair Waldorf ruled the school and every other girl feared her. Her devious shenanigans are far from real life but we can all admit we envied her for her power and guts.

So here's to you Queen B and the many life lessons you taught us:

1. "Oh, my life is so bountiful, I don't need a boyfriend to be fulfilled."

Queen B even knows that in order to be happy, you don't have to have a boyfriend or a man by your side. Be independent. Go out there. Change the world.

2. "We make our own fairy tales."

Blair created this fantasy where she and Chuck Bass lived happily ever after. That was her fairy tale and she chased after it. Write your fairy tale and then star in it.

3. "Destiny is for losers. Its just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen."

B was known for being spontaneous and always on the go. No one could ever keep up with her. That is how she accomplished so much. So get up and do something.

4. "Fashion is the most powerful art there is. It is movement, design, and architecture all in one. It shows the world who we are and who we'd like to be."

I think Blair connected with all of our inner school girl days where dress codes were strictly enforced and we were judged for our personal style. We all just have to remember that we express ourselves through what we wear.

5. "Fuck feelings. Be a bitch."

Personally, this one is my favorite. Blair was not talking about being insensitive and rude to people for no reason. I believe that she was getting at the point that sometimes we have to be selfish and take care of ourselves instead of other people. So be a bitch!

6. "Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't."

The most powerful people are the one's that nonchalantly parade around with their heads held high. They don't boast about themselves or gloat. They just give off an essence of pride and confidence that consumes a room full of people.

7. "Sometimes you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and who you want to be."

Even Queen B, one of the strongest people ever, knew that you could lose yourself and it is okay to do so. You just have to make sure that you get back up and dust off your skirt and remember "who you are and who you want to be."

8. "Whoever said money doesn't buy happiness didn't know where to shop."

Two words: RETAIL. THERAPY.

9. "I'm not a stop along the way, I'm a destination."

I think this quote is very powerful. We as women should recognize our self worth and that we are more than just a water break for a runner in a race. We are the finish line.

10."You cannot choose who you love. But, you can choose how you love them."

Blair definitely knew about loving the wrong people. Her relationship with Chuck was incredibly toxic. When Blair says this, she really understands that you cannot help who you love. The heart wants what the heart wants. But, you can still love someone without letting them consume you. There's a difference between loving someone and being in love with someone.

Thank you Blair for helping us girls through all the hard years and tough times that life throws at us. You truly are QUEEN.

Oh, and don't forget to ask yourself: WWBWD? (What would Blair Waldorf do?)

"You know you love me.

XOXO,

Gossip Girl"

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
