When you're in the middle of literally anything important and you feel a panic attack coming on.
It's always at the most inconvenient times, isn't it?
When the anxiety attack subsides and you're freaking EXHAUSTED.
Seriously, who knew that anxiety takes such a toll on your mind AND body?
Feeling stressed? Of course there's always that good old homework to do!
It will later take forever to get done as you contemplate every worrisome thing ever.
Feeling too anxious to socialize? Better dodge every person you know with a handy-dandy excuse!
"I have too much work to do." "I'm waiting for a call from my parents." "I'm super tired, I'm gonna head to bed early." "I'm really not feeling well." Well, at least that last one's true.
Intrusive thoughts aren't super fun, which is why it's important to get rid of them as soon as possible before they TAKE OVER.
Sometimes it feels like just another chore to check off. Take out trash. Do your laundry. Get assignments done. Extinguish intrusive thoughts.
But there's always that extra-bad thought that gets through your forcefield oh-so-sneakily.
Usually it's one that you've had to deal with before. Like, a lot. Anxiety has this weird resistance to memory, am I right?
Okay, let's play a game called "How many times will someone tell me that I should stop being so anxious?"
Because it's obviously that simple.
And then there comes a time when you feel you need to tell people why you're so anxious all the time.
It's an anxiety disorder, and it's not something you can always control--but you're working on it. You know it makes you different, but is that okay?
The good news is, there's going to be someone out there that knows what you're going through.
And they love you not just despite it, but rather accept you even with all that anxiety brings.
And that's why we keep fighting.
We'll always keep fighting. And one day, we'll win.
