Liam's Declassified Stonehill Senior Survival Guide

A bucket list for seniors.

Stonehill College

With graduation slowly approaching for the Class of 2016, we thought we'd take some time to compile a list of things all Stonehill seniors should do before saying goodbye to campus for good! Check it out!

1. Go to a Courts' party.

A lot of people like to stay clear of the Courts after hearing many lurid tales about what goes on there during the weekend. If you haven't taken a stroll through this part of campus on a Friday night, make sure to do so before you graduate. Courts' parties are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. You could end up hating it or you could end up having the time of your life. You'll never know unless you try.

2. Have breakfast at The Farmer's Daughter.

It's a bit pricey and the wait can be a bit much, but their Nutella Belgian Waffles are to die for!

3. Use that fancy new Sports Complex.

The walk is a bit far, but you might as well take advantage of it before you graduate and have to sign up for an expensive Planet Fitness membership!

4. Say hello to that cute girl or guy you've always been too afraid to approach.

What do you have to lose? If it goes well, you might end up marrying them some day. If not, no sweat because you're graduating and don't ever have to see them again if you don't want to.

5. Roll down Donahue Hill.

Why? There's no particular reason, other than the fact that it looks like so much fun.

6. Make amends with those you've hurt and those who have hurt you.

You don't want to leave Stonehill with any regrets. If you've gotten into an argument with someone, no matter how big or small it was, try to patch things up so you can leave campus in May with a clean conscience.

7. Get contact info from professors with whom you want to keep in touch.

If college has taught us anything, it is that networking is everything. Make sure to get phone numbers and email addresses from the professors who have really made an impact on your life. If you stay in touch, you never know how they may continue to impact your life beyond graduation. Remember, though, don't hit up any teachers on social media until after your last exam (you don't want to get anyone in trouble, after all).

8. Just dance.

Dance is such a powerful thing. We dance when we are happy and want to express our elation. When we are angry, we dance out our frustrations in order to make ourselves feel better. We dance to tell stories. We dance to express sentiments of love. Keep this all in mind as you struggle to make it through your final semester at Stonehill. It will be a time of major ups and major downs. Whether the road is smooth or bumpy, make sure to take some time out of your busy schedule every once in awhile to dance like nobody's watching.

9. Take advantage of Taco Tuesday and Chicken Wrap Thursday in the Commons as often as you can.

This is pretty self-explanatory.

10. Continue to try your best.

You may feel the need to give into your senioritis and coast through your final months at Stonehill, but keep in mind that you / your parents are still responsible for paying tuition. Don't let that money go to waste! You may be tired and stressed out, but just hold on a little bit longer and it will all be over soon!

11. Remember to breathe!

You've worked too hard over the last four years to get yourself into a panic about the future! Everything has a way of working out! You may be jumping into the unknown, but don't get scared! The world is your oyster, baby! With everything you've learned at Stonehill, you have the power to do great things! So, go do them!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
