A Letter To Those Struggling With Senioritis
Frontline

We all know that time of year, it's that time of year when all your tests (for all your classes) are on the same day. When you first start out in college it seems easy-- you have everything down to a T and if push comes to shove, you have four more years to make it up. Let me tell you that Senioritis is a real thing, and mental breakdowns your senior year is also a real thing. Here are the 10 things, really NORMAL things to do when you are stressed out and have senioritis:

1. Cry about it.

Seriously, let it out. Those are your emotions and right now is a reasonable time to let that stress come out.

2. Run it out.

"They" (whoever they are) say that working out is a great way to release endorphins and endorphins make people high on happiness.

3. Sit down and study

Now that you are tired from working out and crying, try to study a bit and get on track.

4. Just kidding, eat empty calories

Just like exercise, food is also a comfort. But if you are trying to be healthy, go towards the better options.

5. Cry some more

Let it out, its okay!

6. Find that nice adult beverage (if you're of age) and take a sip... or two.

NO MORE THAN TWO SIPS!!!

7. Watch Netflix

Take a break from all this nonsense and watch mind numbing shows.

8. Study some more

Seriously, get cracking on those books.

9. Get coffee.

AGAIN, just like working out, caffeine also releases endorphins.

10. Relax... everything will be okay!

YOU TOTALLY HAVE THIS!! Just stay motivated to finish in the long run.

The best thing to do when you are fearful of the future is to sit down and relax. Yes, you had the entire first part of the semester to study but you're not perfect! It is OK to be scared but it is not OK to give up. Keep on going and you will graduate and everything will be great. Right now you are doing something that most people have not done! You are so close to getting that expensive piece of paper that holds your future! Do not give up and realize it is okay to break down; please, just do not give up!!

Sincerely,

A girl who is also suffering from senioritis.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
