George W. Bush has been making the rounds on all of the talk shows promoting his new book and it has me missing President 43 in all kinds of way. While I am very excited for what the new President is going to do make America great again, I still will always have a soft spot for President Bush. Well before the liberals jumped on board and saw the George Bush that Republicans saw and now say they miss him, mainly due to their hatred of President Trump, I knew that President 43 was one of a kind all along.
1. Thank you for your sense of self-deprecating humor and always be able to laugh at your linguistic challenges.
2. Thank you for your persistent and dedicated work on behalf of our nations' veterans and finding them adjust to the civilian sector.
3. Thank you for your unquestionable love of this country, our military, and the values of freedom and democracy.
4. Thank you for leading this country with courage, bravery, and strength in one of the hardest times in this nation's history and through many decisions that you were unfairly treated for.
5. Thank you for always being civil and reaching across the political spectrum to show unity in a time of such great divisiveness.
6. Thank you for being unapologetically Christian and outspoken with your faith but not "preachy" at the same time.
7. Thank you for not only talking the talk but walking the walk. Whether it traveling to Africa to set up new cancer treatment clinics, AIDS clinics, or malaria nets or even biking/golfing with veterans; your actions speak louder than words. Yours and Laura's initiative to provide education to women in the Middle East is inspiring.
8. Thank you for never criticizing your successor and the office of the presidency even though he did more than his fair share of wrongfully blaming you for everything under the sun.
9. Thank you for always being a family man with solid values. Whether you are talking about your parents, your siblings, your children, or your wife, America knows that right alongside your love of this country; you love your family.
10. Thank you for being a genuine, everyday American who loves football, baseball, hunting, fishing, boating, and for your love of the great state of Texas. Many people think your cowboy persona is staged and/or obnoxious but I and many others find it genuine and endearing.
11. Thank you for rescuing stray puppies and being a doting Grandpa to two adorable little girls. It warms the nation's heart.
12. Thank you for leading this great nation for eight years with class, humility, and patriotism.
Even though the left just started missing you, many people have missed you all along. Here's to you President Bush and all of the wonderful memories you have provided us (great paintings and poncho struggles and all).
