Dear Mom,
Although this letter may be late, I wanted to wish you a Happy Mother's Day. No matter how many times I say, "I love you," it is never enough. Since the day that I was born you have been my best friend. You have been there through thick and thin. You have gotten me through those unfortunate middle school years and the tough high school years. Now that I have finished my first year of college, I can honestly say that I never realized how much you do for me. Even the little things make me miss you. Whether it is a home cooked meal or just a loving hug, I missed you everyday.
The first time that I got sick at college, even if it was just a cold, the first person that I wanted was my mother. Being a grownup sucks, especially when you're not there to make all of my doctors appointments and help me to braid my hair. Every time you would text me or call me, it made my day. I couldn't wait to get home just so that I could talk to you and see you in person.
You sacrifice so much to make sure that your children are happy, and I can never thank you enough for it. Every sports game that you drove me to, every after school club and friend's house, I cannot tell you how much it means to me that you took time out of your busy schedule so that I could be happy. You were always my biggest supporter and loudest fan. You encourage me to follow my dreams, no matter how silly they may seem. You may not always know who I am talking about, but you are always there to listen to my problems.
There are not enough words to express all of my feelings for you. I could go on and on about how much I love, admire, and respect you. You are the strongest and bravest person that I know. I don't think you realize how much I look up to you as a role model. One day, I hope that I can be as great a mother as you are. My children will be lucky if I am even half as great as you. I know that they will already have the best grandmother in the world.
It's silly to think that there is only one day dedicated to you when you deserve the whole year. Being a mother is a full-time job and you do it so well. I cannot even imagine the person that I would be today if I had not had you to look up to. I like to think that I turned out decently and that is all because of you. You made me who I am and gave me the courage to be myself. No matter what happens in my life, no matter where I end up, no matter what the circumstances are, I will always love you. Thank you for being the best mother that a girl could ask for. Most of all, thank you for being you because I could not imagine growing up with anyone else.
I love you, Mom. Happy Mother's Day.
