A letter to my adoptive brothers.

An Open Letter To 'My Guys'

Sometimes life from a guy’s perspective can be a great breath of fresh air. Now don’t get me wrong, my girlfriends are the best, but my guys bring something different; they bring a new perspective to life, one that brings so much laughter and excitement. Every girl should have a guy in their lives who makes them happy. My guys aren’t my father, brothers, cousins, or my boyfriend; but my guys are my best friends, the friends who have become like my adoptive brothers.

Hi guys,

First and foremost, I love you.

You are not technically family but I love you like I love my own brothers. We have created our own little family over the years, spending countless hours together.

You make me laugh.

You have witnessed milk come out of my nose from laughing at one of your puns, sassy comments, or corny jokes. We have spent hours not being able to breathe, having a stomach ache because we were laughing so hard. You seem to know how to make me smile, especially on the days when I need it the most.

Thank you for always being there.

I know I can count on you because you are only a phone call away. You are always listening to me about my life. My problems become your problems. Thanks for the hour long conversations in the car with me, the coffee dates where you listened much more than you talked, and the summer nights by the campfire. Thanks for not judging me when I have that extra slice of pizza after a rough day or show up to hang out in sweatpants with no make up on.

You make life so much more exciting.

That random hiking trip, random ice cream or coffee run, or spontaneous soccer game always makes my days a little bit better. I look forward to our random adventures when we are together.

I can’t imagine my life without you.

I need my guys. Thank you for everything. Let’s keep making more adventures.

Lots of love,

Your girl

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
