A Letter To My Friend
HerCampus

We all have people in our lives that help us through our tough situations. People who are always there for us no matter what and can lift our spirits when we are feeling down. We all have friends we can go to for anything. Even when we don't ask for help, we know that our friends will always be willing to extend a helping hand. This is just a quick letter to say thank you because without them our lives would be different.

Dear friend,

Thank you for all that you've done for me, especially when I needed you the most. You were there for me through my toughest times and you have seen me at my worse, yet you stayed until I got better. You know me better than anyone and you know that my life isn't as great as most people think it is. You've helped me in so many ways. You've brought me up when I was down and you are always able to put a smile on my face.

You always know when I'm in a bad mood. It's crazy, but you can always tell by just looking at me. I love that about you. That you know me so well to see how I am feeling. You're amazing, you know that? The way you always want me to be happy and that you want the best for me. I'm so grateful to have someone like you in my life. Meeting you was one of the greatest things that have happened to me.

It's crazy to think that you know how to make me feel better all the time. When I need you, I know you will be there in a heartbeat. A friend like you deserves so much than I could ever give. You deserve to be happy too. Sometimes I feel like you're so concerned about my happiness that you forget about your own. Please remember that I want you to be happy too. I'm happy knowing that you are happy too. You deserve so much in life and I hope you get everything you ever wish for.

Thank you for everything. You've made me into the person I am today. I am a stronger person who's happy with herself and loves herself, thanks to you. I am someone who knows I deserve better and that I have amazing friends like you to be there for me to remind me every day. It's a great feeling to know that I have someone there to support me. It is a great feeling to know it is you.

I may not say this enough, but it's friends like you that help me moving forward and keeps me from looking back into the past. You are the reason I can look in the mirror and say this is a life worth living because I have people like you to support me.

So thank you. Thank you for everything. I wouldn't want any other friend but you because you bring out the best in me and I know you'll always be there for me.

Love always,

A very appreciative friend

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
