Dear Me,
It is often said that you are more likely to follow through with things if you write them down, so here is the documentation.
I hope you will revisit this letter often and have a peace of mind knowing you are fulfilling your goals. The kind of goals I am referring to are not the materialistic kind, not about the job you want, the car, the kids, or the wealth you will have... these are goals set to be the best person that you can be because at the end of the day nothing else matters.
First, forgive those who never apologized. I know life did not come with a caution letter warning you that people would let you down, but I promise it will be okay. Forgive them. A special strength comes those who accept an apology they will never receive.
Secondly, love... and when you love, love hard. The world seems to have a shortage of love these days, so do your part in spreading it. Love so hard that it becomes contagious to those around you. If you have love and nothing else, you still have everything you need.
Thirdly, “do good”. I mean it just like I say it. Do good in the world. Stand up for what you believe in, smile to strangers at the grocery store, give five dollars to the homeless person on the side of the street, hold the door for the people behind you and be grateful for all of your blessings.
Lastly, stay faithful. You will have days that you feel like giving up. You will have days that people will test you. You will experience dark times, but please stay faithful. You control your own thoughts, you create your own happiness, and you have the power to be the sunshine on a cloudy day. Stay faithful.
Stand still and let God move. I hope you will find pride in the person you are every morning when you wake up. I hope all of these goals are applied to your everyday life. Among all of the things, do not forget the most important thing- breathe. Just breathe.
Sincerely,
Yourself
