On Wednesday, November 9, 2016 it was announced that Donald J Trump had won the 2016 presidential election and would be the 45th President of the United States of America.

Secretary Clinton won the popular vote racking in 60,464,581 votes to Trump's 60,068,552. However, Trump snagged some key states and overall defeated Clinton in the electoral college with 290 votes to her 228.

The people of America spoke, and while I did not vote for this soon to be President, and strongly disagree with him on many topics, I respect that he is going to be such, and despite who you voted for, you should too.

When the election results were in I was upset to say the least. I had followed this election from the beginning, and had studied the details carefully. I knew from the beginning that Trump wasn’t my guy. I didn’t view things the same way he did, I didn’t like the way he spoke about and towards women, and I quite frankly didn’t think he was qualified to hold the position. But one thing I never did was disrespect a Trump supporter because of their beliefs, or call them names because we had different views. Sure, I got into some debates on certain subjects but I never went as far to insult anyone’s intelligence simply for supporting a candidate.

That’s what politics its, not everyone is going to agree with everything everyone has to say, but everyone should respect that people have those differing views.

So getting to the point of this letter;

To the Hillary Supporters/Democrats/Liberals/Trump Haters,

Do not be sad over this election. Do not be angry over this election. Now is the time to unite stronger than ever to have your voices heard, and to be a force to reckon with. Get out of the streets, stop the rioting, stop the protesting, and give the man a chance. Do not feed into the stereotypes that people throw out about us. We are strong willed people. No matter who is in the White House, our voices will be heard. We will move forward. We had 8 years of great change and progress, and now, like it or not, the rest of America has spoken and Trump is going to be the next President of the United States. Stand strong together, work together, don’t fight and disrespect this great nation. Go get involved and take charge. “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

To the Trump Supporters/Republicans/Conservative/Hillary Haters,

Do not boast about your win, do not say “I told you so”. Cut the ‘Killary’ bull, stop talking about throwing her in jail, you won, it’s over. Embrace everyone, no matter who they voted for. Please, try to understand what half of this country is dealing with. There is genuine fear here. They are not crying because they lost an election, they are crying because they are scared. They are scared for LGBTQ rights to be stripped away. They are scared for friends and family, maybe even themselves being deported. They fear that “Making America Great Again” is being misconstrued as “Making America White Again.” Speak out against these fears. Help your president-elect make this country great again. You can’t achieve that with a nation that is divided, and it will remain divided as long as you continue to put down liberals for having feelings and expressing them openly. Reach out to someone, let them know they’re safe in their own country, just like everyone should be.

It doesn’t matter who sits in the oval office as President of the United States, what matters is the strength of us, the people that will take this country further than it’s ever been, and although I am disappointed with the outcome with this election, I am willing to give Donald Trump the chance to show us that he has what it takes to help this nation and improve. I hope you all can look positively into the future and be a part of making America truly great again.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
