Dear Mom and Dad,
I know I haven't been in touch lately but it's because finals week is upon us. I know that doesn't explain much, but that's why I'm writing, to explain. And trust me, I am more stressed out this week than you'll ever be during my college career.
When we do get a chance to talk and you ask if I'm studying, the answer is yes. All I know these two weeks is the library, Starbucks and no sleep. If school offered a class to just sleep in, I'd excel...especially around the time of finals.
When I call you, I am calling to either hear your voice or just rant about my horrible English professor. And I'm so happy you dislike her just as much as I do. So thank you for allowing me to vent to you during my fourth or fifth meltdown.
I like to call to see what new encouragement you will give me this time around. I love knowing that you believe in me when I hardly believe in myself right now. Thank you so so so much for being so proud and supportive of me because that's what I really need from you. Also, thank you for sending me off to college so I can rant and be stressed every day of my life for the next four years. It's a great joy!
Mom, I love how you know my exam schedule better than I do. And I am beyond happy you do because sometimes I forget that the most stressful time of the semester is coming up. Thank you for texting me every morning to make sure I'm up even though half the time I'm up before you text me. Thank you for giving me encouraging words in the cards you send me, they really make a difference. I love you!
Dad, thank you for just being you! I love you to the moon and back! I love that I'm your little princess and you support me even though you want better for me. Thank you for understanding my choice of major. I know sometimes it's not easy to understand why I chose the path I did, but you deal with it with such grace. I promise I will work just as hard as you have!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything that y'all do for me! It really means a lot even if I don't always say so!
Love,
Your stressed out college princess.
