Dear Netflix,
You are a god sent service that has fueled both my passion and my procrastination. I was first blessed in 9th grade when my mom made me an account for my birthday. I didn't understand what you'd become to me and the rest of the world back then. Today, there is no streaming service that even compares. Yes, HBO NOW has some brand new exciting movies but overall their selection is weak in comparison. Yes, Hulu has new episodes of television shows as they air but you have to deal with advertisements (which is a joke when you're already paying for a subscription). I can't even think of another service to compare you to right now because you're that far ahead of the competition.
If it wasn't for you, Netflix, I would not have become as much of a 'Die Hard' film fan that I am. One of the first binges I did wasn't of a series but of films by Quentin Tarantino. The selection is not always amazing for people looking for Hollywood blockbusters but if you want to get a little culture from the classics, Netflix is great. And then there are the Netflix Original Series that are just incredible. If they haven't tapped into every genera on television yet, they will soon enough. House of Cards is undeniably my favorite but I also love the Marvel series, Narcos, Stranger Things, and many, MANY more of their series.
For a very reasonable price, you have been there for me. For all those times I complained there was nothing new to watch. It wasn't your fault; I was being too picky and I apologize for that. You have made date nights cheaper. You have made lonely night less boring. I do hate it when you toy with my emotions by constantly adding and removing a few of the same movies. (I feel like whenever I want to watch Across the Universe it's no longer available but I see it every other day on there.) But you are constantly improving. Now we can save movies to our devices to watch without data?! It's fantastic!
From the comfort of my own bed, thank you Netflix!
