Dear Grandma Oreo,
I hope you know that I miss you a lot. You were an amazing grandparent who always had something up her sleeve for us kids to do. I remember the one time you taped paper to the underside of the table and told us we were painting the chapel ceiling.
You've missed a lot in these past years. Molly and I graduated from High School. I will be a junior at Illinois State University in this coming fall. Katie got married this last year and it was beautiful, though I know you were there.
However, I am mostly writing this to remember a lot of the amazing things that you did. I mean the whole reason I love Jell-O is because you always had it when we came over. Your invention of Ritz crackers with cream cheese. The stool that you could turn into a step ladder that was the only place I would sit when it was time to eat. The chalkboard you had in the basement and how you would sit at one of the desks as we were "teaching". How you had to lock your dog, Oreo, in the kitchen anytime you left with us because she would crazy otherwise. Watching you do your sit and be fit exercise. Even the stupid ping pong table that had a giant dent in the middle that caused the ball to go flying out to the side when it hit it.
You would always be willing to play with us grandkids even when it was something you truly hated. Those crayon pillows that Mom and auntie had when they were little that we would pretend we could write with are now in my room. Even all the funky jewelry that you had from your giant clip-on earrings to the rose pin you gave me. I even love that weird little sculpture of the old lady carrying the basket of oranges. I still remember how you had that tiny ceramic turtle that greeted you at the door when you walked in.
Overall I hope you had a wonderful anniversary with Grandpa and that you are proud of me. I think of you a lot and really miss you every day. Mom and I found your family history paper a while ago and found out we were Dutch. It was a surprise but I guess we still learn new things from you everyday. I love you grandma and all the memories you gave me and even though it's been over 10 years I still miss you every day.
Love, Megan
