A Letter To The Greeley Central Graduating Class Of 2016!

Dear Greeley Central Class of 2016,

You made it! You completed the requirements to obtain your diploma from the best high school in Northern Colorado, Greeley Central! As a Greeley Central graduate myself and since you all just recently graduated, I would like to look back at the reasons why I love Greeley Central and why I am so proud to be a Wildcat!

One word, stairs! You all know what I am talking about! If you had a class on the third floor after lunch, I can assure you always got to class running out of breath and thinking to yourself, "Wow, I'm out of shape!" Although I do not miss the stairs, it is a struggle all Central students can relate to. Greeley West students can't relate to this, 'cause you know, they don't have stairs!

The teachers! I am so proud that I graduated from a high school with the best and most qualified teachers in Northern Colorado. Take a moment to think about that teacher or teachers who pushed you to improve your grades or that teacher who cracked lame jokes in class. Or that teacher who rounded your 89% to a 90%. The teachers are a big part of our high school experience and we don't always give them the credit they deserve. I believe Greeley Central is full of caring teachers who have a passion for what they do and also have a passion for their students. Take the time to thank those teachers who made an impact in your life. I would like to give a shout out to Mr. Sean Miller, Mrs. Jordan Miller, Mr. Matt Ellis, Ms. Flor Varela, and Frau Mary Samuelstuen! Thank you for caring, you all contributed to my unforgettable experience at Central!

Student section at sporting events! I am beyond proud about how united the students are at sporting events. No matter if you're a freshman or a senior, at sporting events the students become one! All of the wildcats get together to cheer on their school and are proud win or lose. The fight song is so catchy I am sure it will remain engraved in our memory and in our hearts. Take the time to remember how fired up we would get at the big Central versus West football game. How we would all write all over our cars and go all decked out in black and orange. The school spirit the student body has is incredible!

First day of school assembly! Greeley Central always starts the year with a bang! The assembly is always- as you young people say- lit! The new teachers are forced to have a dance off, Mr. Cousins always gave us a motivational speech, and we were all united to show our Wildcat pride. The first day of school assembly reminds us how lucky we are to be Wildcats and that the school year is what we make it!

My list can go on and on but I really want you, the class of 2016 to think about what made your experience as a wildcat unforgettable. It can be anything from running away from Amy during lunch or the homecoming parade. Be proud to be a Greeley Central graduate. Once a wildcat, always a wildcat.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
