Let Your Pain Be Your Motivation

You’ve been hurt by your boyfriend, your best friend, parent or anyone for that matter. Hurt because of the things that you thought you knew, but you found out you don’t. Hurt over something that everyone says, “Shouldn’t matter.” Well, it does matter.

On the bright side, now you know. You could’ve gone your whole life believing something that was not true. Wouldn’t you rather go through the hurt and know the truth? Would it be better to go through life living a lie? Right now you think, "I wish I didn't know," but it’s better this way. This won’t be the last time you will be hurt, and more than likely, it isn’t the first either.

Hurt is the rawest emotion you will ever experience. You will never ever find anything that will leave such an impact on your life. You will, unfortunately, remember this pain forever. You will never forget the days that you’ve been hurt. You’ll also never forget the people who hurt you. The pain will lessen. You will move on — graduate, get married, move, get a new job — whatever it is that catapults you into your next chapter. You wont think about the pain daily anymore.

Subconsciously, it will become your motivation. It will become the reason that you learn to be careful whom you give your love to. Now, you will be scared to trust, which will be good and bad. You will give people a “trial period.” If they pass, then you’ve earned a true friend. Since you’ve been hurt, you will learn how to use your anger, pain and sadness to better your life. You will learn that you don’t need certain people and that there are others that you will need. You know now what it’s like to believe things that aren’t true, and you’ll try your best to never let it happen again.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
