Let Go, Let God

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.- 1 Peter 5:7

Let Go, Let God

Naturally, we are all control freaks. We have to have control over everything in our lives, or it feels like we are living in some sort of mass chaos. Let alone, if we are letting somebody else hold that control over our lives, we are mentally distraught. I'm here to tell you, that it's okay to not have total control. It's okay to let go, and let God handle our lives.

Where does God fit in your life? Is he first, second, third... last? Ask yourself this important question, and you will begin to understand. Be really honest with yourself, if God is last, admit it and be able to make a change. However, you need to realize, if you are placing your relationship with God on the back burner you may be too distracted with your earthly relationships.

God knows the difference between who you want and who you need in your life.

God has a way of showing you seasonal and permanent people. Sometimes, the permanent people will turn out to only be seasonal. The boyfriend that you thought was going to be around forever, that you would marry. The friend who ended up leaving you when thing get bad. No matter who it is, no matter what they've done, don't blame yourself or question what you could have done better- believe in God's plan. Sometimes you might question "Why did God take this person away from me?" or "What did I do to deserve this?" When you begin to have doubts in yourself, questioning "Was I enough?"

Don't. You are enough.

Sometimes, people just don't fit into God's plan for you. God knows your path, and He knows their path, and most likely it's not a good fit for you. God also see's peoples intentions with you. He knows that some people are only looking to fit you into their own agenda, and forget about yours. Unfortunately, sometimes people who kick you down, never have an intention of picking you back up. That's where God comes in. He will pick you up, and put you on the correct path with the correct people.

Once you are able to release the responsibility of control over your life and the people in it, you will begin to see the changes in yourself. Life gets hard, things change and go unexpectedly. Trust that God has your best in mind, and allow him to take the reins.

"But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; it's leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."
-Jeremiah 17:7-8

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
